Thousands of New Yorkers To Protest Trump’s First Visit to NYC Since Inauguration

New York City - Thousands of New Yorkers took to the streets on May 4th,2017; to protest Donald J. Trump’s first visit to New York City since becoming president, and to show how unpopular and unwelcome he is in his hometown, and to condemn Trump and his regime of hatred and discrimination.

On January 28th, thousands of New Yorkers gathered at JFK and courthouses to stand in solidarity to say that people of all backgrounds are welcome in our city. On May 4th again, thousands of New Yorkers gathered together to say that Trump is not. 

On Donald Trump’s first visit back to the city since becoming president, thousands turned into the streets to protest and send a clear message about what real New York Values look like by letting the entire world know what New Yorkers think about his violent, racist, misogynistic, ignorant and hateful policies. 

Among other things, Trump wants to cut funding for NIH, the EPA, National Parks, Health Care, Meals on Wheels, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Public Schools in order to pay for massive tax cuts for giant corporations and the wealthy, a deportation force, an ineffective border wall, and weapons.

Trump bragged about committing sexual assault, encouraged his supporters to attack people, lies incessantly pretty much all the time, and is currently in violation of the Constitution with conflicts of interest. New Yorkers won't stand for that.
