NEW​ ​YORK​ ​CITY,​ ​NY​ - A coalition of grassroots organizers led the March​ ​for​ ​Racial Justice​ in New York City on ​October​ ​1​, 2017. This multi-community movement organized the march to bring people together to begin the work necessary to change laws, policies, and practices steeped in racism and white supremacy.

The March for Racial Justice is a black and indigenous led multi-community movement organized to resist the U.S. laws, policies, and practices that remain steeped in racism and white supremacy. The march is open to the public and all who are ready to work towards dismantling the oppressive structures, institutions, and practices that exaggerate inequality and dehumanize people of color.

The March​ ​for​ ​Racial​ ​Justice​ is a call to action, a new arm of support for the grassroots organizations already working every day to battle racism and its systemic issues, a rallying cry for justice for victims of this violent system that historically and disproportionately targets Black, Brown and Indigenous people. It is time to say: Not one more!

The march is open to all who are ready to work towards dismantling the oppressive structures, institutions, and practices that hasten inequality and dehumanize people of color and religious minorities. We march to resist the systemic racism that creates a gross imbalance of power in our city: police brutality and "broken window" policing; mass incarceration, the prison industrial complex, and the deplorable conditions at prison facilities, including those at Rikers Island; rampant gentrification and terraforming of NYC neighborhoods; segregation of our schools, predatory corporate charter schools, and the school to prison pipeline; and anti-immigration policies that strike fear into the hearts of so much of the population – immigrants, Dreamers, refugees, and as is often the case, victims of human trafficking.
