Emergency rally in NYC to protest the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids happening across the country
In response to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids and deportations happening across the country, about a thousand people among immigrant communities from across New York City, Resist Here, New York Communities for Change, Make the Road New York and concerned citizens held a rally on February 10, 2017 in front of ICE offices at 26 Federal Plaza, NYC followed by a march to Federal Court House to demand an end to the attacks on immigrants.
As part of Trump's efforts to terrorize immigrant communities, Trump and his inner circle of white nationalists are deploying massive ICE raids across cities to deport hard working immigrants. Just in the last couple of hours, over a hundred people have been rounded up in ICE raids.
With growing fear that Trump will deport millions of undocumented immigrants, particularly in urban areas that do not strictly enforce immigration laws, we're showing up to let them know: this will NOT happen in New York City under our watch.
