#NoDAPL rally outside the Army Corps of Engineers at Foley Square demanding a halt to the eviction

New York - As peaceful water protectors face eviction from Standing Rock, NYC high school students on mid-winter break held a rally outside the Army Corps of Engineers at Foley Square on February 22, 2017; demanding a halt to the eviction. Private school students will walk out of class at 2pm ET so they can be at Foley Square by 3pm ET when the eviction is set to begin.

These students stand with the youth of Standing Rock who first put out the call to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline and are calling on Mayor DeBlasio, Comptroller Stringer and the New York City Council to protect the future of NYC youth and youth around the world by divesting New York City's pension funds from banks funding the Dakota Access Pipeline and other fossil fuel infrastructure.

NYC Youth Stands with Standing Rock is a a high school student led movement, calling on NYC, both its residents and city government, to defund the Dakota Access Pipeline and divest from all fossil fuels.
